DESTINATION WEDDING: GUEST GOODIE BAGS

6 months to go, according to my non-existent, totally unofficial B-day* wedding countdown and plans are nicely falling into place. With most of the "big" stuff decided on and locked in, it's time to shift my focus to some more of the fun, finer details. One of which, as the title of this post would suggest, is the guest goodie bags.

I thought it was a super sweet idea to give our guests a big warm Cayman welcome for going that extra mile (literally!) by putting together some adorable wedding showbags. The idea being the bags contain a handy collection of gifts and items that guests will find both useful and practical as well as fun and cute during their stay on the island.

Firstly, I think I need to decide on a general design for the bag. I love the idea of guests being able to take their bags home and reuse them later on in every day life, as a shopping tote bag for example. A strong, sturdy canvas totes with a personalised logo would be perfect.

Next, I need to brainstorm WHAT to actually put in the bags. I've thrown together a very quick and dirty first draft of what the goodie bag should contain. Have I missed anything!? Is there something else that would be a guest go-to whilst kicking it in the Caribbean?! OK, here's my list...

  1. Sunscreen (the sun is strong in this part of the world!)
  2. A printed map of the island, customized to highlight the events and locations of the occasion as well as any other points of interest
  3. A custom-designed towel or something that could be used on the beach
  4. Some kind of local souvenir - a baby turtle or sting ray perhaps!?
  5. Some yummy edible treats - some chocolate or fancy tea bags
  6. Some cute monogrammed slippers for kicking back in their condo
  7. Travel-sized toiletries for keeping fresh and cool, some mineral water spray mist or some handbag-sized moisturiser
  8. A timeline containing guest events and general itinerary
  9. Bottled water
  10. A little notepad and pen for jotting things down
  11. RUM CAKE!!!

Have I left anything essential out? I love the idea of giving guests something fun and practical.

Love Eva
xx
